Exhibition “Inventorship in Latvia 1918–1940” can be viewed in Rīdzenes Street

For the first time within 100 years since Latvia became an independent state, the citizens are invited to see the Latvian Patent Office`s exhibition of 20 historical inventions that have brought Latvia's name in the wide world. The exhibition will be open from 25 October to 7 November in Rīdzenes Street, on the first floor of the shopping center “Galerija Centrs”.

Latvia can been proud of rich choir traditions, that gather both singers and dancers at the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration every five years. For 75 years already, the Latvian choir traditions are also nurtured by the Latvian Academic Choir “Latvija”, which has become one of the best known European choirs. This year the choir marks its 75th anniversary, and the choir has staged a photo exhibition “Latvian Academic Choir “Latvija”. As The Time Goes By.” to celebrate it. The exhibition presents the life of the choir from its beginnings until today and pays special attention to the artistic directors and chief conductors, cooperation with world-known composers and conductors, and the leisure activities of choir members.

This week Rīdzenes Street market and Galactico sale

On 13th and 14th of July in Galerija Centrs the traditional Rīdzenes Street market will take place and celebrate its one-year anniversary, while offering visitors goods from Latvian fields, as well as products by craftsmen and artists – jewellery, clothing, household items.
