A photo exhibition that was devised during the filming of the first ever Latvian-Japanese co-production Magical Kimono. The filming process undertaken by director Māris Martinsons, actors Kaori Momoi and Issei Ogata (Japan), Artūrs Skrastiņš and chef Mārtiņš Sirmais was unobtrusively documented by photographer Jānis Vēliņš who says, “It is a very fine dance on a narrow tightrope – striving not to annoy the crew, not to disturb the actors, not to interfere in the process, but to observe. To watch, parallel to the vision of the director and cameraman, and to offer a parallel, alternative dimension”. The film Magical Kimono (2017) will be shown in Latvian cinemas from 8 September.
