Exhibition from the collections of fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev and Latvian museums.

In collaboration with ABLV Bank and the Alexandre Vassiliev Foundation, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design organises already the ninth exhibition from the garment collection of the notable fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev (Александр Васильев), from which for this occasion a broad selection of children's clothing and accessories will be shown. The exhibition will present the grand caprices and zigzags of children's fashion over the course of three centuries – beginning from the eras of rococo and the Empire, 19th century crinoline and Art Nouveau corsetless garments to the astonishing plurality of styles of children's clothes in the 20th century.

At the shopping centre Galerija Centrs visitors have the opportunity to see historical images selected for this exhibition: postcards, photographs of different periods, showing important Latvian cultural workers in childhood as well as images of the legendary shop window of the Children's World department store in Riga with its compositions of moving dolls.”
