Congratulations to BOURZMA STUDIO – the future of fashion at Galerija Centrs!
BOURZMA is not just a fashion concept – it’s a movement.
Created in Latvia, BOURZMA stands for sustainability, creativity, and local talent, spotlighting second-hand, upcycled, and responsibly made fashion. Their mission is to challenge fast fashion norms, support emerging designers, and spark conversations about conscious consumption.
Over time, BOURZMA has become a key player in Latvia’s fashion industry – organizing clothing upcycling workshops, pop-up stores, and collaborating with bold new designers who share their values. They offer a modern platform for clothing with a story – garments that are given the chance to live a second life.
One of BOURZMA’s biggest successes is the BOURZMA Boutique – an annual festival held in authentic Riga locations. This year, it took place at Vidzeme Market. The festival brings together fashion shows, art, music, and workshops, creating a vibrant, multi-layered experience for all visitors.
Now, the mission continues with the opening of BOURZMA STUDIO on the 3rd floor of Galerija Centrs. It’s a creative, open space for meeting, learning, and co-creating. The studio regularly hosts workshops on garment repair techniques, DIY design, styling, and more – helping people reconnect with their wardrobe, give clothes a second chance, and embrace a unique personal style.
And most importantly – you can buy original, handmade pieces created by emerging Latvian designers. Each item is one of a kind – offering you the chance to own something truly special while supporting the local creative industry.
